The National Service Training Program (PLKN) 3.0 will only be implemented in 2025 following comprehensive administrative processes and detailed studies, according to Defense Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
He stated that the program cannot be executed next year due to the lack of allocations for the program in the 2024 Budget. Simultaneously, the Ministry of Defense needs to upgrade the 13 National Service Training Camps (Kem Wataniah) across the country, which will serve as the program’s locations.
“To achieve this, we need efforts to upgrade the 13 Kem Wataniah nationwide first. The detailed implementation mechanism of PLKN will only be known after the ministry formulates it together with stakeholders, especially non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the community.
“Before we finalize the program, it needs the approval of the Cabinet to revive or continue it,” he said in the Parliament while concluding the debate on the Supply Bill for the Ministry of Defense.
