Many Twitter users must have noticed ever since early this year that their feed seems to have more moving content than it usually does. That’s Twitter Amplify for you.
Twitter Amplify gives you video highlights from TV networks, sports leagues and digital publishers. Advertisers also could send to their fans highlights through a feature called Promoted Tweets.
Now, Twitter offers a new feature that allows more publishers and creators to monetize their vidoe content on the site. You don’t need an existing publisher-advertiser deal in place, instead you can advertise your own content to millions of Twitter users.
The publishers simply need to upload their video and Twitter will dynamically insert the ads amoong the most relevant videos being watched by the target audience.

Twitter says that they are: “excited to help people enjoy more great video, publishers drive more revenue and brands align with the best mobile vidoe moments, all at scale.”
We have seen many for and against discussion concerning ad blockers on your web browser, with Apple and Google mixed into the equation.
Now, we can see Twitter providing an alternative avenue for advertisers and publishers to monetize their video content. If Twitter controls and scale the ads that reach its users, it may avoid the same current situation of rampant annoying, irrelevant ads assaulting users’ page/feed, which caused them to take the route of blocking them.
Meanwhile, Twitter users may see more video-laden feed when they open up the social media site. We’ll just have to see how Tweeters react to this, since the feed as it is, is already too heavy with ads, some would find.
On a more positive note, users can now upload videos directly from their desktop computer onto the website. Twitter has also announced, at a conference in New York, that it will add a GIF generator and allow Periscope to play within the feed.
We can expect more user-friendly updates in the future such as the one above from Twitter after the company’s statement of intent t do so recently.
