MMU Announces The Appointment Of Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd. Su’ud As New President

Multimedia University (MMU), one of Malaysia’s leading private universities and the tertiary education arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), announced the appointment of Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd. Su’ud as its new President, effective 1 August 2020.

Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham succeeded Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq, who completed his tenure as the university’s President in February 2020. The appointment of Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham as MMU’s fifth (5th ) president comes at an opportune moment as the university moves to strengthen its position as the leader in ICT-related education, especially when it comes to championing innovation and entrepreneurship.

This is also in tandem with TM’s aspiration to build a digital economy via education excellence of local talents particularly in the fields of information technology, communications and multimedia especially in the current Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) era.

He brings with him vast experience spanning nearly 25 years in ICT and technology-based higher education industry at both the national as well as international level, which is essential to lead MMU onto greater heights especially in preparing the future leaders and highly skilled workforce for Digital Malaysia.

Throughout his career, he has served numerous roles, and achieved many notable accomplishments; notably spearheading the Higher Technical and Vocational Education & Training (HTVET), an initiative designed to raise the standards of human capital who underwent vocational and technical training.

In 2015, he was conferred the Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Mérite from the Government of France, a universal order honouring individuals with significant contributions to the nation of France.

Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the Université de La Rochelle, France in 2008, achieving Very Honorable class. Prior to that, he obtained his Master of Science in Electronics, Electro techniques & Automation from Université de Montpellier 2 – Sciences et Techniques du Languedoc, Montpellier, France, followed by his Post Master Degree in Electronics a year later.

He graduated his first degree with Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Electronics, Electro techniques and Automation from the same institute.
