The augmented reality headset (featured on the July cover of PC.com) will be making its way to developers probably in a years time according to head honcho at Microsoft, Satya Nadella during an interview with BBC. He added that the overall technology for the HoloLens is a five year journey and that the technology will branch out to other fields eventually.

Many had expected the head gear to make its way into the market like early 2016 but looks like everyone now need to be patient to play with the sets, however developers and enterprises will get the first version sometime next year to start building programs. With Windows 10 already made commercial  and already 14 million users downloading the OS, it is incidentally the de-facto software that allows developers to build solutions for the HoloLens, the step up for more apps and solutions is bound to come sooner than later.
