It is revealed that Malaysia is listed as number three in the world for child pornography violation after US and Netherlands. Bukit Aman police force head of Sexual Investigation Unit Deputy Supt, Tan Gee Soon shared this information during a briefing with the press recently.

While laws in the country do not prohibit distribution on these illicit contents, there are laws and sections in place that could bring perpetrators to justice if caught sharing files of this nature. There are amendments to the law being discussed to discourage these acts even further in the near future. Attention to child pornography came to light, when a Briton was convicted of sexually abusing children in Malaysia for years without the knowledge of local authorities. The white male, was using the world wide web to post images and search for buyers and sellers who reside in the darkest corner of the web, like Darknet.

Not many agencies are able to crack or trace the complex intricacies of Darknet the wild west of the net, where many illegal activity takes place, like weapons trading, drug distribution and underage porn trading. The FBI has horde of teams working to break into this back alley and did manage to find ways to penetrate and trace certain activities by placing tracking malwares on TOR the browser used in the underworld. With the exploit of the browser the FBI arrested 1,500 users of dark web child pornography site Playpen.
