The Entire Lenovo ThinkPad Series is Finally in Malaysia

After making its introduction at CES 2018, Lenovo finally unveils its entire Lenovo ThinkPad series of laptops alongside a few others onto our shores. This ranges from its ThinkPad X1 series down to its entry-level E series laptops.

The three main highlights from the Lenovo ThinkPad series focuses on the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, the ThinkPad X1 Yoga and the ThinkPad X1 Tablet. Also making an appearance was its ThinkPad X280 and X380 Yoga series, the ThinkPad T480, T480S and T580S series and lastly, the ThinkPad L380, L380 Yoga and L480. Aside from its laptops, the Lenovo Workstations were also on-hand, mainly the P52c, the P520 and P720.

First off is the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, which features up to a Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and 1TB of PCIe SSD storage. On its display sits a 14-inch WQHD HDR panel with much thinner bezels than before. It also weighs as only 1.13kg, making it the world’s lightest 14-inch laptop. The ThinkPad X1 Yoga shares virtually the same specs as the X1 Carbon in terms of processor, memory and storage. The key difference being its 360° hinges and the ThinkPad Pen Pro, which comes with 4,096 pressure points.

Both the ThinkPad X1 Carbon and the X1 Yoga are now available at all Lenovo exclusive stores as well as its online store with a starting retail price of RM7,999 and RM8,999 exclusively.

While both the X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga are now available in the market, the ThinkPad X1 Tablet will only be available come April 2018. It will feature up to a Core i7 processor with vPro, up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage. The X1 Tablet is detachable from its keyboard, allowing it to stand on its own with a sturdy kickstand at the rear.

Also on hand was the Lenovo ThinkSmart Hub 500, an all-in-one (AiO) device that is considered to be the “smartest way to collaborate.” It is essentially a purpose-built Skype Room Systems device for meetings, allowing for a more productive and efficient workflow. It comes with a 11.6-inch touchscreen with a 360° rotation, allowing it to be shared across the room.

It houses a 7th generation Intel-Core i5 processor with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a 128GB SSD. There are also dual 4W Dolby Audio Premium Tuned speakers with two far-field microphones.
