Lenovo has now launched the latest entry to their ThinkPad series in Malaysia, the X1 Carbon Gen-8. The laptop is now available in Malaysia, and comes in two variants: 10th Gen Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7 processors. That being said, let’s get into the rest of the specs the X1 Carbon Gen-8 is packing.
The laptops come with a 14-inch FHD screen which can be upgraded to a 4K display, up to 16GB of LPDDR3 2133MHz RAM and SSD storage of up to 1TB M.2 2280, PCIe -NVMe OPAL, along with a with a 51W 4-Cell Li-Polymer battery. Lenovo claims the X1 Carbon Gen 8 can last an estimated 18 hours, making it pretty beefy to get your through all that work.
Of course, being a ThinkPad, it has a lot of the previous-gen features like the touchpad and the little red tracker in the center of the keyboard. But making an appearance on the ThinkPad is WiFi 6, which allows for higher speeds and reduced latency. It also features their renowned carbon fiber chassis, which helps keep the machine light and durable. The X1 Carbon Gen-8 weighs in at only 1.09kgs, and is 0.6-inches thick, making in pretty portable in my books.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 is also a multimedia powerhouse. It comes fitted with the Dolby Atmos Speaker System, offering rich audio immersion with custom-built and tuned Dolby speakers.
The device also offers a number of 14” display options, starting from the baseline FHD IPS 400nits options, and followed by the FHD IPS LP Touch 400nits display, upgraded from 300nits in the previous X1 Carbon model. Another improved option is the FHD IPS ePrivacy 500nits display, now with touchscreen capabilities and upgraded from 400nits in the previous Gen 7 model. These displays all come with Dolby Vision and HDR400 certification.
There’s also their ThinkShutter physical cover for the webcam, 360-degree microphones with noise-cancelling, and Bluetooth 5.0. the X1 Carbon Gen-8 has a USB-C Thunderbolt 3 port, two USB-C 3.1, a HDMI 1.4 and one DisplayPort 1.2.
Safe to say this thing’s capable enough to your working needs.
