LG Is Heading to CES With Updated Smart TVs

With CES just around the corner, many tech companies are gearing up to reveal what the latest in their portfolio of devices. One such company is LG and they have confirmed that they will be revealing more about their newest webOS 2.0 Smart TV platform.

Designed to “Make TV Simple Again”, the webOS TV was developed to address the growing frustration with overly complex smart TVs. Focusing on three overarching features – Simple Connection, Simple Switching and Simple Discovery – webOS made navigating today’s state-of-the-art TV systems easier than ever.

To improve upon the usability of the webOS TVs, LG’s webOS 2.0 is reported to offer a long list of improvements and impressive features such as reducing boot time by 60 percent and content access being significantly smoother and faster by up to 70 percent. Other features of webOS 2.0 include a My Channels option that allows users to customise their favorite live TV channels or set-top box channels on the Launcher Bar, Quick Settings that lets viewers adjust their TV without interrupting the program they’re watching, and Input Picker which allows connected devices to be recognized instantly for immediate use.

Apart from new features, LG’s partnership with major content providers such as Amazon and Netflix allows webOS TV owners to access a huge selection of Ultra HD content.
