On the accreditation front, IJN made history as the first centre worldwide to receive Joint Commission International (JCI) recognition for its Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) Programme, and the first in Malaysia for its Heart Failure Programme. This dual Centre of Excellence accreditation, awarded in April 2025, cements IJN’s pioneering role in advancing both adult and paediatric cardiovascular care.
In addition, IJN has sustained global benchmarks by maintaining JCI accreditation across five consecutive cycles since 2009, a clear reflection of its unwavering commitment to the highest standards of safety and patient care.
In research, IJN remains a strong voice in cardiovascular medicine, producing 152 peer-reviewed publications in 2025 and sharing knowledge that benefits patients far beyond Malaysia.
