HP Introduces Another World First; The HP Tango X, The First Smart Home Printer

Along with the HP Spectre Folio, HP Malaysia also announced the HP Tango and Tango X. What they are describing as the world’s first Smart Home Printer, seems to be another play at being all about the aesthetics. They heavily reference the ugliness of printers during the event, so this is HP’s answer, to making your home a little more beautiful. The Tango comes with a fully online experience. Which essentially means it’s a truly mobile experience.

The HP Tango X gives users the ability to connect and print quickly with Wi-Fi setup from your smartphone or tablet. The printer also delivers a hands-free printing experience with a voice- activated feature. This can be linked to your Google Home, Amazon Echo, or other home setups. Which is pretty cool, you could practically tell your Google Home to print something using the Tango, and it would. For someone who wants a truly connected home, this might be next on your list.

In addition to being able to print up to twice as many pages with original HP high-yield ink cartridges, users can also send photos from your printer to virtually anywhere. With a smart and simple setup through the HP Smart app, the Tango X is the printer for the Smart Home.

But apparently, the cost of ink was mentioned to be only RM 59 for a cartridge, but that doesn’t necessarily tell the whole storage. How much ink is in a cartridge? So how cost effective it is, remains to be seen after testing. The Tango will be available at the end of the year for RM 599 and Tango X for RM 799.
