During a live telecast, Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob gave updates on what has been going on in the country. Apparently there is a rising number of cases of people violating the SOP by attending activities or events that did not meet the SOP restrictions resulting in 357 individuals being arrested and 32 reprimanded.
Ismail also mentioned that PDRM will no longer compromise with those not following the SOP and immediate actions will be taken against them. He reminded the public to cooperate with the authorities and report anyone or anything that does not follow the SOP.
PDRM has reportedly done 57 road blocks and 27 698 vehicles were inspected. 4 foreigners committed immigration offence.
Regarding the mandatory quarantine, Ismail mentions that every Malaysians returning from overseas as well as foreigners visiting Malaysia will have to go through the 14 days mandatory quarantine in stations that the government has set. For locals, they only have to bear 44% of the quarantine cost while foreigners will bear the cost fully.
He mentions that the Government’s decision to reopen the quarantine stations for the mandatory quarantine process was also due to the rising number of imported cases and people’s violation of the SOP.
