Google’s Pixel lineup is pretty polarising, in my opinion, because either you love the phone, or you think it’s severely underpowered. Depends on who you ask, but considering the Pixel isn’t officially available here, we’re inclined to agree it isn’t the most spec heavy, and I’ll get to why in a minute.

So what’s new? We’ve basically seen the Pixel 4 at this point, with Google ‘leaking’ it themselves, but not that much on the specs as we’d like. But now it seems that Best Buy Canada ever so graciously put up their pre-order for Google’s latest flagship, and it’s not looking too great honestly.

The phone comes with the a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, and a dual rear cam setup of 12MP + 16MP. That’s pretty on par with the rest of the phones on the market, except the dual cams, but I trust Google’s camera because of Gcam and it’s software optimisation.

But the thing that kills this device for me, is a 2800mAh battery on the Pixel 4, AND A 64GB VARIANT?? That’s honestly horrendous, because that battery definitely is small for flagship stands. Even RM1500 phones and lower have at least 3500mAh batteries, so what’s the problem here? And 64GB variants on phones without microSD support should honestly be banned in 2019. It’s just bad.

They should’ve thought a bit more about it, but it’s probably best not to order this phone when you could get much more for way less. Unless you’re willing to overlook it just for the cameras. Yeah, I’d still probably get it for those shooters. But it doesn’t make me any less disappointed at that battery life. What am I gonna get, an hour or two tops of Screen on Time? Good luck.
