A lot of board partners offer game codes as an incentive to get your next GPU from them. But Nvidia has recently changed the rules regarding game code redemptions off their cards. They will not be conducting hardware checks to ensure that the free game goes to the original purchaser.

So now you will have to login using GeForce Experience to complete the redemption process. This stops buyers from being able to re-gift these games over platforms like Steam. Of course, this won’t stop anyone from sharing Steam accounts, but it’s definitely a deterrent.

A move like this would force system builders to give the original hardware purchaser the free game that comes with their hardware, whether they want it or not.
