PS4 Pro Will Get an Overclocked Setting with New Firmware Update!

The PlayStation 4’s firmware will see an update to version 4.50 soon. Sony has already begun beta previews and it’s looking good, especially for the PlayStation 4 Pro. All versions of the PS4 will get external hard drive support, new menus and bring support for 3D Blu-rays on PSVR. But PS4 Pro owners can look forward to optimisations for older titles to make them run a lot better thanks to “Boost Mode”. Boost Mode is sort of an “Overclock” setting for the PS4 Pro which ups the clock speeds to take advantage of games with variable frame rates.

Sony has stated that Boost Mode might cause games (and the PS4 Pro itself) to act a little weirdly at times, but says this can be solved by just going back to the default setting.
