Former PM Najib Razak Becomes A Memelord In Light Of Attempted Coup; Finally A Job He’s Qualified To Do

What a start to the week its been! Even with all the grumblings of “casual” meetings between political foes over the weekend, I don’t think anyone expected a full on House of Cards arc to go down. You’d be forgiven for half expecting Frank Underwood to narrate the damn thing, such is the audacity of the shocking developments that unfolded yesterday.

2018’s general election played out just like Star Wars: A New Hope and the recent collapse of the Rebel Alliance Pakatan Harapan coalition puts us right on course for The Empire Strikes Back, which is worrying because the rebel alliance didn’t exactly have the best of times in that one! That being said though, all the political manoeuvres among MPs from PPBM, Umno, PAS and others intent on forming a new coalition to take power does have it’s bright spots.

For one, the attempted coup was a failure. Which apparently puts Tun Mahathir in a stronger position than he originally was. But the most unexpected outcome of this whole situation is without a doubt our former Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s goldmine of memes.

Currently facing a rap sheet longer than your monthly grocery list, he’s had some free time to himself seeing as, you know, he’s no longer running the country and everything. If you’re worried about how he’s been spending his time though, fret not.

In light of the attempted coup, Najib is processing all the drama the only way he knows how; through the use of comedy. Given that his entire reign as PM was one long comedy that we all wanted cancelled, it’s hardly surprising. Still though, he’s memes are gold. He’s taken to his official Facebook page to share these gems with us.

Let’s not question his motives here, these memes are hilarious.

and my personal favourite (and also probably not meant to be funny but still)..

pape roger

Here’s to hoping that Najib is allowed internet access from his jail cell. He’s finally doing the rakyat a service!
