The San Francisco based fitness and wellness company, Fitbit, Inc. today announced that its paid subscription service, Fitbit Premium, has reached more than 500,000 paid subscribers in less than a year since launch. The paid subscription service guides users through to move more, manage stress, sleep better and eat well.
Fitbit Premium delivers in-depth data, personalised and actionable insights, workouts, motivating games and challenges, advanced sleep tools and wellness reports within its application. The Premium application will be expanding to include seven additional languages later this year, increasing the potential for even more Fitbit users around the world to benefit.
Following the emergence of Covid-19 and subsequent shelter-in-place mandates, Fitbit announced a 90-day free trial of Premium for new users and saw increased interest in the service, as users worldwide sought to manage their health and wellness from home.
“Covid-19 has made it incredibly difficult for people to stay active and healthy, and underscores the importance of prioritising both our physical and mental health. In these extraordinary times we are supporting our users by helping them navigate these challenges so they have the tools, motivation and support to help them stay healthy and fit at home with services like Fitbit Premium,” said James Park, co-founder and chief executive officer of Fitbit.
The application offers users a vast array of modes and activities in their fitness journeys. Members have access to hundreds of audio and video workouts to try including dance cardio, HIIT, yoga and more as well as celebrities and trainers like Ayesha Curry.
Yoga and wellness enthusiasts and even amateurs looking to give the discipline a go will find the application indispensable. Hosting over 100 mindfulness practice sessions from Aura, Breethe and Ten Percent Happier, Fitbit Premium helps users manage stress, improve focus, relax, improve body positivity or unwind before bed.
For those experiencing inconsistent sleeping patterns, Fitbit Premium offers deeper analysis of your daily Sleep Score, with a breakdown of your score and graphs to show how it’s calculated based on time asleep, deep and REM sleep stages and restoration, plus audio relaxation tools.
Not only that, the application excels at offering users smaller, more personalised insights to help users make smarter choices about their health. For example, “Yesterday you earned 35 active minutes—more than your usual 20 minutes. You also slept 25 minutes more than your average 6 hours and 45 minutes!”.
Custom programs help users achieve their health and fitness goals, from nutrition programs like “Eat to Beat Cholesterol,” to exercise activities with “Get Active” and “Run Training,” and even programmes to encourage sleep such as “Get More Sleep.” Users looking to exercise with friends and family can also do so through the Get Fit Bingo mode.
Fitbit Premium is available to anyone with or without a Fitbit device to try. New Fitbit Premium users are offered a free 90-day trial. Fitbit Premium is available in Malaysia for RM39 per month or RM335 per year.
Premium is available to Fitbit Health Solutions enterprise customers through Fitbit Care, both as an a-la-carte offering and included within the Health Coaching offering as a digital intervention to support wellness.
