First Look At Tom Holland As Young Nathan Drake For The Live-Action Uncharted Movie

I’ve always been a fan of the Uncharted game series ever since my cousin introduced me to the game. It so fun, it’s scary at times and we had some very funny moments with the glitches. Honestly, if I had a gaming channel back then you’ll know what I’m talking about.

But now we’re getting a first look at Tom Holland in costume as the young Nathan Drake for the live-action movie adaptation of the Uncharted games.

First let’s talk about the game itself; what is Uncharted? Uncharted is an action-adventure game series developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation consoles. The main series of games follows Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter who travels across the world to uncover various historical mysteries.

So that’s pretty much the premise of the game that you need to know so on to the movie! Now the live-action Uncharted movie is a prequel to the games which is why we will be following the adventures of the main character, Nathan Drake during his youth.

We already a little bit of Drake’s backstory as his younger self appears in all the mainline games; Uncharted: Drake’s FortuneUncharted 2: Among ThievesUncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. So with that being said, I’m hoping to see some of these stories or at least references in the movie.

In May 2017, Tom Holland was announced to play the part of a young Nathan Drake and yesterday we got a glimpse of him in costume as the British actor posted a photo of him on set on his Instagram.

Now there’s not that many movie adaptations of games, animes, books that are good. There are some that are good but a lot are just…they shouldn’t even make it to be honest. Remember the Super Mario Bros movie in 1993? Tragic. The recent Tomb Raider movie was…okay? I mean personally, it was enjoyable but I wouldn’t call it the best adaptation.

So as a fan of the Uncharted games, I am hoping that this movie will turn out good. Tom Holland has proven himself to be a good actor with his performance in The Impossible, his portrayal of Spiderman in the MCU and in the recent psychological thriller movie, The Devil All The Time so I’m confident he can nail this role too.

What do you guys think? Are you excited for the movie? Share us your thoughts!
