During the Final Fantasy XV 2nd Anniversary livestream, Square Enix revealed that it has canceled all upcoming DLCs except for Episode Ardyn. Perhaps to appease some of fans’ disappointment, the company has put out several announcements of new content coming to the game.
Episode Ardyn
Square Enix revealed teaser trailer for its final upcoming DLC starring the game’s main villain, Ardyn Izunia.
Judging from the trailer, it looks like the DLC takes place in the not-too-distant past. Apart from Ardyn making a return, notable characters such as King Regis and Verstael appear, looking much younger than they were in the main game.
Episode Ardyn is set to launch in March 2019.
Final Fantasy XV x Final Fantasy XIV Online Collaboration
Final Fantasy XV will have a new story event surrounding the appearance of Miqo’te named Y’jhimei. This new piece of content will feature a special boss called Garuda, inspired by the same enemy in Final Fantasy XIV.

FFXIV director Naoki Yoshida described this collaboration as in the making for two years. He congratulated the FFXV team and also stated that he and his team have supervised the content and fully support it from a lore perspective. He also hinted at a possible FFXV event coming to FFXIV soon, but didn’t want to divulge details just yet.
The FFXV x FFXIV crossover arrives as a free update on 13th December 2018.
Final Fantasy XV Comrades Standalone Multiplayer Release
Final Fantasy XV’s multiplayer expansion, Comrades, will see a standalone release soon. Apart from containing the same experience as the add-on DLC for FFXV, it will also include additional bosses inspired by powerful enemies from the main game such as Gilgamesh, the Kings of Lucis, and more.
Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer: Comrades launches on 13th December 2018.
