Facebook’s Portal Closes the Virtual Distance with Your Loved Ones

Now you have no excuse not to contact your family or your friends.

Facebook’s latest communication device, called Portal and Portal+, allows you to connect with your family and catch up with your friends, no matter where you are.

The two new video communication devices by Facebook dramatically changes the way we keep in touch. With Portal, you can easily connect with your loved ones and feel like you’re in the same room – except that you are miles away.

Thanks to the AI technology, video calling lets you enjoy every waking moment together.

Portal comes with a 10-inch 1280 x 800 display while Portal+ has a larger screen, a 15-inch 1920 x 1080 pivoting screen for more flexibility. Both models are fitted with Smart Camera and Smart Sound technology, giving you a more convenient and hands-free experience.

You can even make calls to friends on Facebook Messenger even if they don’t have Portal. To enjoy the hands-free experience, you can activate the Voice Control + Alexa by simply saying, “Hey Portal” and announcing who you’d like to call.

They are designed to feel closer to the important people in your life and make video chats feel less like a call, and more of the sensation that you’re actually in the same room.

Both communication devices are available now for pre-order in the US from Facebook at portal.facebook.com, as well as Amazon and Best Buy. The Portal can be yours for $199 USD while the Portal+ is going for $349 USD.

If you wish to own any two of the devices, you can have them at a discount of $100 USD. For example, a bundle of two Portal devices will be priced at $298 USD. Shipping will commence in November.

Visit portal.facebook.com for more information or to pre-order your Portal today.
