Facebook Restores Worldwide Outage…But Damage Already Done

Users of the popular social media platform Facebook together with its other subsidiaries Whatsapp and Instagram who have been experiencing poor activity need not worry it was not the network but Facebook itself. The servers were down since 10 hours ago but has since been restored.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred, the platform owners should realise the responsibility they shoulder with billions of users relying on the service to conduct business, socialise and even as an emergency communication tool. The level of disruption is unacceptable, Facebook makes billions of dollars from its users but fails numerous times to protect the interest of its very important commodity.

Consumers have no option but to continue with Facebook’s antics and with no competition in sight this incident will be regarded as trivial. Don’t expect the outage to be the last, we can foresee more disruption to come from the Silicon Valley tech company that already holds the unfavourable position of being the worst managed in 2018.

The question beckons as to when are the head honcho’s at Facebook ever going to learn, they are sitting on the worlds largest depository of human database, great care and guardianship must be practised. They should also start functioning like an utility company like the electricity or water board and understand any disruption to the service can cause millions if not billions to the consumer who use their services.
