Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Cinemas were forced to close down until it was safe enough for the economy to reopen. Many film releases were delayed till later this year or next year.
One of the delayed film was the Malaysian sports documentary film Eye On The Ball directed by Chen Yih Wen. It did however managed to have gala premiere at TGV 1Utama back in March which ended with a standing ovation for the team.
But the wait is now over as you get to watch Eye On The Ball in the comfort of your own home. The film is set to premiere on Astro First (Channel 480) next Thursday as part Astro First’s exciting line-up for the Merdeka and Malaysia Day season.
Eye On The Ball is a sport documentary film that tell the remarkable true story of the Malaysian national blind football team and their journey in the 2017 ASEAN Para Games.
National blind footballer Mohd Asri Arshad, who was featured in the film, said he hoped the film would be an eye-opener for the public when they realise what visually-impaired people can do. He doesn’t expect the film to break box office records and that inspiring the viewers to go achieve their dreams after watching the film was good enough for him.
“For all those who are giving up on their dreams, I think this film is perfect for them as it shows that nothing is impossible if you are willing to work for it, despite the odds,” he said.
Eye On The Ball is the first cinema film by the award-winning R.AGE team and was directed by R.AGE senior producer Chen Yih Wen.
