Asus, Denon & Marantz, Pioneer and Philips were named by the European Commission in their latest investigations into anti-competitive practices within Europe. The electrical and electronics companies are being investigated for restricting the ability of online retailers to set their own prices.

Seperately, the European Commission is looking at how Valve is dealing with video companies like Bandai Namco, Koch Media, ZeniMax and Capcom. They suspect that Valve is working with Steam to block cross-border game purchasing within the EU. Since some member states use their own national currencies, games can sometimes be purchased for less and sold as “gifts” on Steam to users in countries that use the Euro or Pound.
