Epson has unveiled the WorkForce Enterprise AM-M5500, its first A3 mono mid-range model in the WorkForce Enterprise Series, designed for high-speed, high-volume printing in corporate settings. The device delivers print speeds of 55 pages per minute (ppm) and features fast scan rates of 70 images per minute (ipm) for simplex and 140 ipm for duplex scanning.

The AM-M5500 incorporates Optical Character Recognition (OCR) capabilities to create searchable and editable documents, with the optional OCR unit available separately. Its updated design includes a tiltable 10.1-inch LCD touch panel, dual cassette options, expanded paper capacity, and finishing solutions such as stapling, booklet finishing, and a space-saving inner finisher.

Epson emphasised the printer’s eco-conscious design, which uses Heat-Free Technology to reduce energy consumption by up to 85% compared with laser printers. The device is constructed with 30% recycled plastic, packaged in boxes made from 80% recycled paper, and minimises waste through fewer replacement parts and consumables. Power monitoring and duplex printing indicators further encourage efficiency.

Morikawa Tomohito, Managing Director of Epson Malaysia, said the AM-M5500 is aimed at businesses requiring fast and reliable high-volume mono printing, highlighting its user-friendly design, eco-conscious features, and compact footprint.

The WorkForce Enterprise AM-M5500 will be available for sale in Malaysia from August 2025 through Epson’s authorised dealer network.
