Dr Mahathir Is Annoying; Pro Anwar Group Renews Condemnation of Former Prime Minister

Dr Mahathir may be a beloved character amongst most Malaysians, but the former Prime Minister, who until today is the only man to lead the country twice, isn’t exactly everyone’s cup of tea.

Otai Reformis, a vocal PKR-linked group that comprises of those who joined Anwar’s reformasi movement in the late 90’s has renewed it’s condemnation of Dr. M, calling the man annoying and warning Pakatan Harapan against supporting his return as Prime Minister.

Speaking to Free Malaysia Today, Abdul Razak Ismail, a spokesperson for the group said “Mahathir’s character is annoying. The PH leadership may be seeking ministerial posts and, without thinking, prepared to give Mahathir the prime minister’s post.”

News of top PH leaders meeting up with Mahathir at the PKR office has fuelled speculation that PH is planning to gather support in the dewan rakyat by choosing with Mahathir as it’s candidate for prime minister yet again. Razak on the other hand, thinks that the person who leads the country should be Anwar.

“This is the time for Mahathir to fulfil his promise of giving the post to Anwar, instead of appealing for sympathy from PH leaders for an opportunity to be prime minister for six months.” The concern here is that Mahathir cannot be trusted to step aside for Anwar, as he’s shown on many an occasion.

With PH claiming to have the majority of support from MPs, it’ll be interesting who ends up being elected as candidate for prime minister. There have been rumours that Mahathir will be top choice, with two deputies in PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal.
