We’ve seen how the DJI Osmo gimbal changed the way video or photo taking is done resulting in smooth images without the shaky effects. With current models already doing exceptional work, the company has now released Osmo Pocket, a compact three-axis stabilised camera that’s much smaller and fitting for tiny palms or ladies.

The unit which looks like an electric toothbrush, stands at 4 inches and offers top-notch features including a 1/2.3-inch sensor 12-megapixel camera that records photographs and 4K video up to 60fps at 100Mbps. Voice recording is crisp, thanks to the built-in dual microphones and an advanced noise-canceling algorithms.

DJI also integrated a 1-inch touch screen giving users live view as well the ability to toggle through the various shooting modes, adjust settings, review footage and gain access to a full suite of creative features like the image recognition algorithm that recognises subjects or people which then locks the subject in the centre of the frame. There’s even time-lapse and motionless, action videos and panorama modes.

A universal port under the touchscreen allows users to connect their mobile devices that use iOS Lightning or USB-C, upon connection DJI Mimo app will prompt and the in-app menu offers a variety of features and recording modes. Together with the Osmo Pocket a range of accessories gives multiple uses for the gimbal, an accessory mount action camera and mobile phones, wireless module, controller wheel, light filters, waterproof case and a 3.5mm adapter for microphone.

Osmo Pocket retails for RM1500 (US$349) and will be available for pre-order and will start shipping on December 15th.
