Digi announces today that it has become Malaysia’s widest 4G LTE network provider with the expansion of dual band 4G LTE on 1,800Mhz and 2,600Mhz spectrum bands, which now covers 50% of the nation’s population, in addition to a 3G footprint of 87%.

For the past three years, the company has aggressively invested in modernising and strengthening its network and fibre infrastructure capabilities. Now, the telco has reached users in 28 major cities and secondary towns nationwide.

And it doesn’t stop there! The company also plans to double site rollout for the year by adding 1,500 more sites in pursuance to its vision of becoming Malaysia’s no.1 mobile internet provider. Customers also may enjoy 4G+ technologies in the future.

As Digi’s Chief Executive Officer, Albern Murty says: “We aspire to build a world-class network to enable more Malaysians to enjoy consistent high-speed internet services on-the-go.”

The yellow telco seeks to encourage 40% of its non-internet users to adopt 4G LTE SIM and at the same time, attract new users through this energetic expansion plan.

It also offers easy upgrade to 4G LTE SIM, the best range of affordable LTE devices starting from RM259 and plans as low as RM25.

Digi is serious about its plan to lead the telco market. It has already invested RM2.3 billion in CAPEX for the past three years and continue to invest RM900 million this year to enlarge its network reach and deliver internet to all Malaysians.
