Update: Digi Is Worst Performer In Bandar Puteri Puchong, Here’s Why

Update: We received loads of feedback on this piece of news and of course many Digi customers in the zone wanted an answer to this prolonged predicament. The survey was conducted from January till March 2016 and lots have changed since then, residence of Bandar Puteri on Digi network can rejoice with news the telco has taken the matter seriously and has already deployed engineers to enhance signals in the area by adding base station and more importantly will be making sure the newly refarmed 900Mhz spectrum is coming their way. What this means is that, its only now Digi has been given this much sought after spectrum known to provide good network coverage for indoors, which during the recent media briefing on network rollout plans for 2017 Chief Technical Officer, Kesavan informed LiveatPC.com that Bandar Puteri will be one of the township prioritised for this bandwidth.
However, regulatory agency MCMC will only permit refarmed spectrum to be swithced on after 1st July, but rest assured in the mean time Kesavan highlighted the added stations on the other two bandwidth will be ready to broadcast giving better 4G signals end of this February.

Based on MCMC 2016 QoS Report
Digi did get in touch with us and was forthcoming in their plans to roll out
It seems MCMC has been receiving loads of complaint from Digi customers who reside in Bandar Puteri Puchong, to the extent the multimedia commission conducted a separate survey on quality of service on mobile network performance just for this zone.
And based on the recently released 2016 report, the separate survey is warranted, with a population of over 400,000, a sizable number, Digi users in the area have been suffering with poor data connection and regular disruption. After testing, the result showed an average download speed of just 2 Mbit/s, with the signal fluctuating between 3G signal and EDGE signal even though the area is within 3G coverage. Digi claims to have 80% 4G LTE population coverage with 10Mbps on 4G and 20Mbps for 4G plus, however in Bandar Puteri the fluctuation of the receiving weak signals causes unstable connection to the end user, therefore experiencing lags during web browsing and data connection activities.

The above is the comparison among the other service providers in Puchong, while its clearly obvious Maxis leads the pack with the above par speeds, an everyone else recorded zero to less than 10% packet loss, except for Digi suffering a massive 33% in loss. MCMC chose prime commercial area which is highly populated during day time and surrounded by buildings and shop lots. The measurement was conducted between January and March 2016 and the results has been shared with the relevant service providers and expected to resolved any issues concerning the complaint area.
On why Digi has not upped the service quality in the area is baffling, even in Dataran Prima PJ an established business centre where PC.com office is located, the network provider continuously fails to increase cellular performance, to the extend even getting connection on the ground floor outside can be challenging.
