CyberSecurity Malaysia, the national cyber security specialist under the purview of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM), introduced the Coordinated Malware Eradication and Remediation Platform (CMERP). The CMERP is an automatic malware detection and alert system developed locally through public and private collaborations.
The platform went through a successful pilot deployment at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) Research Centre before reaching commercialisation this year.
The software utilizes advanced malware detection and quarantine tech, and the CMERP system is expected to significantly reduce the impact of malware threats for organizations, particularly those with the critical national information infrastructure (CNII) sectors. It incorporates smart security features to detect, alert, and mitigate cyber threats automatically. CMERP was introduced during CyberSecurity Malaysia – Awards, Conference & Exhibition (CSM-ACE) 2019, which was themed “Cyber Defence”.
CSM-ACE 2019 was officiated by Mr. Tan Chuan Ou, Deputy Secretary General (Telecommunications Infrastructure and Digital Economy), Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia. The event is organized from 23rd to 27th September 2019, and the 11th edition of CSM-ACE 2019 is expected to attract over 5000 local and international cyber security professionals, industry leaders, tech investors, academics and government officials.
