The new decade may have just begun but superstar footballer Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t quite prepared to let go of the last one. He may be one of the richest footballers on the planet, with a net worth of over US$450 million but the GOAT rolled up for the game against Cagliari sporting a 2010 iPod Shuffle.

Thats right, Cristiano Ronaldo, who is on 31 million euros a year uses a US$49 mp3 player. Of course, Ronaldo is by no means a cheap guy. The dude was seen just last week sporting a US$497,040 Rolex GMT-Master Ice on his wrist but maybe he prefers his tech gadgets to be a little more low key. I mean, look at him.. He’s using wired earphones for crying out loud. Apple AirPods? Sorry, never heard of them.

Now there could be a number of possible reasons for Ronaldo opting to turn up with an iPod Shuffle from 10 years ago, but the most likely reason is because it’s a fashion statement. Ronaldo is all about being stylish and the device clipped on his tie does actually look pretty good.

Now, he could actually genuinely love the random selection of songs that the iPod Shuffle offers but personally, I think it’s a long shot. Maybe the device has sentimental value to him, I don’t know. Whatever it is, I bloody love it. I’m one of those guys who used an iPod Classic up till 2018 so to see someone as influential as Cristiano Ronaldo throwing it back with an iPod Shuffle is great. It’s also nice to see a celebrity actually hang on to a tech gadget they like and use it past its years.
