COVID-19: Malaysia’s Coronavirus Cases Shoots Up To A Total Of 553 Infected

As of March 16th, at 5:55 PM, Malaysia now has a total of 553 cases of COVID-19. This comes from a tumultuous weekend, where numbers had risen to 428 total cases which were linked to the Sri Petaling gathering.

Information regarding these cases show that 95 of the 125 new cases reported today, are linked to the same Sri Petaling gathering. The total is now 553, with 42 recoveries thus far. The gathering in question was an international Islamic gathering that was held last month which had almost 20,000 people.

There’s also a new statement from the Ministry of Health, which has postponed religious activities in Mosques starting from 17th March until 26th March.
