Sick of chunky gaming laptops? Aorus announced the latest update to their lineup, the X5 MD, featuring a GTX 1080 in a 22.9mm frame. The laptop adopts Nvidia’s Max-Q design philosophy to maximise thin-and-lightness while maintaining top performance.
Aorus not only fit in a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GDDR5X 8GB, making the laptop VR ready; it also beefed it up with a 7th Gen. Intel Core i7 Overclocked Processor, increasing CPU speed of up to 15% over the Intel 7700HQ CPU. All this at a cooler temperature with a chassis designed for cooling and a 10 stage deep fan control.
Featuring a 15.6″ UHD 3840×2160 IPS Anti-Glare with NVIDIA G-SYNC, the machine also comes with Thunderbolt 3, GDDR5X Memory, and 32-bit ESS Sabre Hi-Fi Audio DAC. The laptop supports up to 3 external surround display.
Also featured on this laptop is RGB Fusion keyboard that has per-key RGB backlighting in 16.8 million colour variations for customisation. Keys can be customised to light up only the required keys for each application, or setup animated illumination effects like breathing, waves, and ripples. The Fusion app can combine audio, backlight, and macro settings to profiles, and switch automatically between games or applications.
The X5 MD with GTX 1080 is estimated to retail at $3,000.
