CES 2018: Sony Personal Audio Beefs Up with New Hi-Res Innovations

Sony personal audio is a major contender for many. Hence, it’s no surprise there is a list of new headsets and earphones for CES 2018 from the long-time audiophile stalwart.

Sony MDR-1AM2

Sony Electronics announced today the latest in Hi-Resolution headphones, the Sony MDR-1AM2. Building from the acclaimed Sony MDR-1A headphones launched in 2014, the Sony MDR-1AM2 brings new and improved features for high quality sound.

Extending the brands’ Hi-Res credentials, the new headset is compatible with up to 100 kHz frequencies playback and have a newly developed 40mm HD driver unit so you can enjoy full-bandwidth sound. The aluminum-coated liquid crystal polymer diaphragms support every fine distinction with perfect reproduction. The Sony 1AM2s feature a Fibonacci-patterned grill to support ultra-high frequency ranges as well as silver-coated OFC (oxygen free copper) for less transmission signal loss.

Taking a page from Sony Signature Series headphones, the Sony MDR-Z1R, it follows the same sound direction and quality.
