Celcom’s service in Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang may experience their service being cut off, including data and voice call services. Celcom has said that this because they’re facing triple fibre failure because of the floods on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

They go on to mention in a tweet that their technical team is working to restore services by 1PM today, so that’s a plus that they’re working even during the floods. They also go on to tell people in the affected areas to stay safe.

However, Tune Talk and other MVNOs seems to be affected, as they operate Celcom’s network. These include Tune Talk, Yoodo, RedOne and XoX.

If you’re in the area, you’re advised to reduce the amount of bandwidth you’re using to reduce the load on the communications system. So best to use SMS to communicate, and try not go online as often to avoid congestion of the network. Stay safe if you’re in the area guys!
