Not content with free devices when signing up for new mobile plans, Celcom is now giving away free flights and a long list of privileges for new postpaid subscribers.
Whats better than loads of data, going on holiday and posting all the Instagram pictures without the worry of exhausting the quota. Celcom is giving its First Platinum and Gold customers free return flight ticket to destinations within ASEAN countries when they sign up for a 1 year contract or choose monthly freebies of rides and beverages among others.
New customers who sign up for 12 months with either Platinum RM148 (60GB) or Platinum Plus at RM188 (100GB) will automatically enjoy these new lifestyle privileges a one off -one return flight ticket to destinations within ASEAN countries, however no mention on which airlines. Or choose monthly combination of two items from partners like Tealive, Grab, 11th Street or apps from GooglePlay or Apple Appstore. Celcom new postpaid plan will also include, free internet roaming plus unlimited calls and sms within these 9 countries, free anyday GB and free premium access to iFlix and Yonder.
First Gold members on the other hand, who sign up for RM80 (20GB) Gold Plus at RM98 (40GB) or Gold Supreme at RM128 (50GB), will enjoy one return flight ticket to destinations within Malaysia or monthly privileges of one item from the merchants every month. Including FREE AnydayGB and free premium access to iFLix.
With the introduction of lifestyle benefits to mobile plans, Celcom is embarking on a new approach to woo customers while other operators continue to offer higher data at lower price which sees revenue erosion year on year. Whether this works out is too early to say, but the approach is fresh and might just spark a trend in the mobile space.
