Celcom Axiata Berhad (Celcom) empowers the spirit of togetherness and unity amongst Malaysians through connectivity, supporting one another during such challenging times amid the upcoming Chinese New Year. Today, Malaysians can join Celcom’s “Chinese New Year Grand Union” virtual potluck event, which leverages the power of connectivity and food, serving as vehicles that bring everyone together.
This year’s Chinese New Year celebrations will be different, especially as Malaysians are doing their part to keep their loved ones safe and out of harm’s way by staying home. The virtual potluck intends to use technology to reenact the festivities and joys of the Lunar New Year while restating the strength of unity, which is most needed during these challenging times.
Beginning in February 4 to February 6, Malaysians can join in Celcom’s Chinese New Year Grand Union virtual potluck by preparing their favourite and best Chinese New Year dishes and virtually showcase them during the event to a panel of judges.
Participants are welcome to demonstrate and tell the stories behind their dish and to run for an RM888 Boost e-Wallet grand prize, as well as to participate in a list of renowned local artists such as Elizabeth Tan and Jinnyboy, join trivia quizzes and win prizes. The event will be aired on Celcom’s FB page on February 10 at 7 p.m.
Celcom also will further hammering out the strength of unity with its festive short film – The Story of our Strength, that reflects on the moments of hardships and struggles from our past. The video draws the parallels with the restrictions we are having now and as a reminder that strength and ability to overcome such circumstances are found among ourselves.
“By utilising technology and connectivity, our Celcom Chinese New Year Grand Union virtual potluck provides an interactive platform for Malaysians to prepare and virtually share their own unique festive dishes and backstories which aims to bring people together, create new and cherished moments with friends, family and loved ones, while keeping safe in their homes,” said Idham Nawawi, Chief Executive Officer of Celcom Axiata Berhad.
