Canon Mirrorless Family Expands With EOS M100

Canon is officially launching the newest addition to the EOS M series of mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras: the EOS M100, allowing the users to capture images with the speed and precision of a DSLR while still facilitating the easy operability of a smartphone camera.

Andrew Koh, President and CEO of Canon Marketing says that imaging technology and advancements have been growing at an accelerated pace in recent years. “We noted that while customers appreciate the convenience of smartphone cameras, they have also cultivated the skills and appreciation for capturing better photos and videos, and will start to look for advanced imaging technology. Hence, we believe that the EOS M100 makes the perfect companion for users aspiring to take their passion in everyday photography to the next level,” he states.

The combination of 24.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 7 image processor yields beautiful and clear images, while Dual Pixel CMOS AF enables high speed auto-focus for crisp and detailed photos. With a 180-degree tilt up 3-inch touch panel LCD screen and Creative Assist feature that simplifies the complexity of the camera’s settings.

Weighing merely 302g (body only), the EOS M100 is thoughtfully designed in a compact and stylish form with optimised dial and buttons for easy operability. It also had an easy-to-grip design so that users can easily maximise the camera’s potential, with up to six Creative Assist settings for frequent use.

The camera’s powerful DIGIC 7 image processor enables an impressive ISO sensitivity range of up to 25600, allowing users to shoot even in the most challenging lighting conditions and still achieve beautifully exposed and low noise images.

Introduced alongside the EOS M100 is the Canon SELPHY CP1300, the company’s latest addition to the range of SELPHY compact wireless photo printers, which is suitable for those who are always on the go.

Together with the EOS M100, the SELPHY printer allow users to enjoy a hassle-free and fun experience of capturing the moments that matter and reliving them with great quality photographs wherever they are,” says Jeffrey Kung, Assistant Director of Consumer Imaging and Information Division.

In line with the launch, Canon is giving out an EOS M100 kit to 10 selected winners who share the best image of an outfit with a creative caption comment, from 8 November to 20 November 2017.
