Call of Duty Mobile was bound to be a hit, considering it’s almost console like quality, and accurate portrayal of the previous games. Actually, we pretty much called it the moment we heard about the game releasing. The game reportedly racked up 100 million downloads in its first week, industry site Sensor Tower said. This basically destroyed previous smash hits “Fortnite” and “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” (PUBG), which both had around 25 million downloads in the same time period.
“This is by far the largest mobile game launch in history in terms of the player base that’s been built in the first week,” said Randy Nelson, head of mobile insights at Sensor Tower.
And honestly, it really isn’t a surprise. Call of Duty is probably one of the most heavily followed, and biggest franchises around the world. It has fans everywhere, and an accessible platform like on Mobile, taps into a huge market of gamers that don’t have consoles, or just want a quick game. It scratches that itch, and that’s the best part about it.
The game is also quite well optimised, but isn’t without its bugs. That’s acceptable considering the game just released, but we can expect more updates, maps, guns, and a ton of skins. And not to mention the amount of E-sports tournaments that are going to pop up with the game. It’s pretty much already foretold. So if you wanted to start you E-sports career, this is probably your best bet.
Git gud.
