Users of social media giant Facebook are encountering issues with the platform with some don’t seem to able to access their accounts or having the maintenance page pop-up with a “service unavailable” message.
We here at LiveatPc.com had no major problem getting into our site account but were momentarily unable to log in as well with the service page appearing but resolved within couple of minutes. This is definitely a very rare occurrence as both Facebook and Instagram have never had outages like this before simultaneously. A quick check on the web showed the blackout occurred across Europe and US, possibly affecting millions even billions of its users. Difficult to assess the immediate impact from this indecent, Facebook has not stated anything on the downtime on its own page.
Google had a wake up call when the tightly secured data were breached last month ending in Google+ being shut down and Facebook itself is no stranger to hacking and hijacks. Could the latest incident be another server hack or just a routine maintenance update? Whatever it is, Facebook needs to be transparent and share with its users on what happened and if any personal data were effected in any way.
