Below you’ll find all the key announcements and trailers from this year’s show, updated as new information drops.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Trailer
Of course, one of the hottest pieces of news from the Tokyo Gameshow is the trailer for the new Final Fantasy VII remake. It shows off a few more story details about the first part of the remake, and the game is slated for a March 3rd 2020 release date.
Death Stranding Trailer
Hideo Kojima is at it again with Death Stranding, but this time we’ve got more info on what the game really is. The game will be available for PS4 on November 8th, so play it if you dare guys. Because I for sure, have NO idea what is going on in this game. The more info that come out about it, the more I’m confused.
Resident Evil: Project Resitance Reveal
Resident Evil: Project Resistance basically came out of nowhere, and seems to be a pretty fun game. Capcom unveiled the multiplayer game, which will feature a 4v1 scenario, where four players are survivors and one player is a ‘Mastermind’ zombie. It seems to be something akin to Dead By Daylight, so I assume that’s where the game is heading towards. The game will be on both PS4 and Xbox One, but no release date as of yet.
Nioh 2
The critically acclaimed samurai hack and slash, Nioh, was originally released in 2017. Nioh 2 was already revealed at last year’s E3, but now we’ve got a new trailer, as well as release schedule. The game is slated to come in “early 2020”.
Yakuza: Like A Dragon
One of my favourite game franchies, Yakuza is coming back with a vengeance. The game, orignally Yakuza 7, is now named ‘Yakuza: Like A Dragon”. However, something that’s new about the game is that it’s not going to follow the same beat em’ up action you’re used to in Yakuza games. It’ll follow a turn-based combat system, so we’ll have to see how that plays out when we’ve got the game in hand. The game is slated to arrive in Japan on January 16th 2020, and will be made available globally sometime later in the year. As much as I enjoy turn-based combat systems, I’m not sure how to feel about Yakuza adapting one.
