Instagram has been updated with an array of features that help its fans become more creative and innovative on the photo and video sharing platform. These are Instagram’s Boomerang, Hyperlapse and Layout.

The latest addition is the Boomerang, an app for iOS and Android that lets you shoot one-second videos that will play on a loop. The video will be comprised of five photos that quickly play forwards and backwards.

It’s a lot like Vines and GIFs but a little different because of the ‘boomerang’ effect, which means you will see everything periodically in reverse. Presumably, this is the part where Instagram developers see the users get creative.

If it spreads among social media frequenters, then it may make Instagram more diversified and its feeds interesting enough to pull users away from rival apps like Snapchat.

Next, the Hyperlapse is an app that increase the playback speed of your video between 1x and 2x into an incredibly smooth time-lapse videos and all without any heavy lifting on your part. The app creates all these behind the scenes and you don’t have to use a desktop to make the videos.

Last but certainly not the least, the Layout collage app give you the ability to squeeze in up to nine photos into a single frame before you post them on Instagram. You can shuffle and flip the pictures to let your creativity runs wild.
