ONEXOX representative and project manager, En. Mohd Affendi Bin Mohd Ramli, termed the co-branded card as a winning proposition for both brands, “ONEXOX prepaid is raising the bar for its Shariah-compliant telco services in Malaysia. Our dealers are actively seeking new and innovative Shariah-compliant products, and we are delighted to be able to provide them with the newly launched co-branded Visa Debit Card-i ONEXOXin collaboration with Bank Islam, the pioneer in Islamic banking in Malaysia.” En Affendi explained.

Users get to enjoy amazing benefits from this partnership for a period of two years. Some of the benefits that the cardholders would enjoy are the use of TAP Mobile Banking-i (TAP) Malaysia’s first mobile banking service by Bank Islam. Equipped with an innovative chip technology, TAP enables users to perform their banking needs from the comfort of your mobile phone, without using internet.

With TAP, ONEXOX dealers will be able to top-up from their phones, without worrying that their personal information may be compromised as TAP comes with dual authentication security for a more secure transaction, to protect the account holders’ financial information.

Cardholders can also use the card as an ATM card, as well as a debit card with contactless payWave function. Adding on to the practicality of this co-branded card, cardholders are also able to perform cash withdrawals without extra charges via Bank Islam’s ‘Cash Out’ service at selected PETRONAS stations in the East Coast and East Malaysia.

According to En Khairul Kamarudin, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Bank Islam, the launch of this new co-branded card is part of Bank Islam’s strategy of working with Shariah-compliant brands and companies to add value to customers.

“With the launch of this Debit Card-i, we are taking another step forward towards a cashless society in support of the initiatives by Bank Negara Malaysia. So far, the number of Bank Islam Visa Debit Card-i has reached over 2.8 million, and through this new partnership, we hope to increase the number of new cardholders.” said En. Khairul.
