A Bangladeshi man was charged with incest and criminal intimidation involving his teenage daughters at the Ayer Keroh Sessions Court here on Thursday, July 23.

The 43-year-old electrician claimed trial to all eight charges of incest before Judge Elesabet Paya Wan.

He allegedly committed incest with teenage daughters between June 2019 and June 2020.

The first six charges were framed under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping upon conviction.

He was also charged under Section 376B of the Penal Code for incest involving his 15-year-old daughter.

All the offences were allegedly committed at a house near a supermarket in Sungai Udang between June 2019 to May and June 2020.

The offence carries a maximum penalty of 30 years’ jail and whipping upon conviction.

He had allegedly committed the offence at 3pm on June 20 near a supermarket in Sungai Udang here. The accused was represented by Gan Seong Kim, and was granted bail of RM50,000 with one surety, while his international passport has been impounded.

The court also fixed Aug 25 as the re-mention date.
