11 years and 21 films later, the end of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Infinity Saga is almost here!
Pretty much every Marvel movie since 2008’s Iron Man has been leading up to this point, and with a 3 hour run time, Avengers: Endgame looks set to be an epic end to what has been a fun ride.
Just as The Avengers weren’t prepared for Thanos, it looks like ticketing websites weren’t prepared for just how in demand the final movie of phase 3 would be. The sheer amount of people hoping to snag tickets for the movie, which premieres April 24th, turned out to be just too overwhelming for several ticketing sites across the US as multiple crashes were reported and even sites that had their servers prepared for the rush couldn’t handle the demand.
The movie has already smashed pre-sale ticket records across multiple sites including Atom and Fandango. Avengers: Endgame has already sold three times more tickets on Atom in the first hour of pre-sales than Avengers: Infinity War did last year. On Fandango, the movie has already achieved the best first-day U.S. sales record for the online ticket retailer, beating Star Wars: The Force Awakens— and it only took six hours to do so. Fans of Star Wars will be dismayed to hear the news but Disney sure isn’t. They seem to have struck gold by acquiring both franchises.
Personally, I can’t wait for the whole arc to be over. Unpopular opinion but Marvel’s Cinematic Universe was never really the same after Disney took over. Can’t deny that i’m still stoked to watch it though. Our local cinemas have already started pre-sale for the movie so be sure to check it out!
