The upcoming English Premier League will be receiving an ultra boost when Astro broadcast some of the matches in 4K Ultra High Definition. Since introducing HD a few seasons back viewers had a hard time going back to normal screening and football fans have been relishing the sports in HD.

Now the bar is set another notch higher with 4K UHD broadcast which will the first for Malaysian for a live telecast. For those keen to experience the high quality and real life like pictures will need a 4K TV or display to enjoy the full extent of the broadcast.

At the recent World Cup all the games were broadcast in 4K and many telecommunication company picked up on the telecast and customers were able to watch the games on their mobile phones or display that supported 4K. Astro was not able to do the same, but will be piloting the project for EPL instead.
