Ubisoft has announced that it will be making it’s latest Assassin’s Creed game available to play for free from Thursday, March 19 to Sunday, March 22.

The game will be free to play on all platforms; PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Uplay). You’ll be able to play the full game within these dates, and progress will carry over if you ultimately decide to buy the game.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey was first released back in October 2018. Compared to previous installments of the game, Odyssey was very well received by game critics. In fact, it’s one of the latest Assassin’s Creed games to receive such rave reviews since Assassin’s Creed II, released back in 2009.

Xbox One and PS4 players will need an Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus subscription, respectively, to play the game for free this weekend. Players on all platforms just need to download the game and play. There’s no need for a constant internet connection to play the game.

Those on PS4 and Uplay can already preload the game to play on March 19 onwards.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey recently added Ezio’s Roman Set from Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and will be available to unlock through Ubisoft Club rewards for the free weekend as well.

If you ultimately decide to buy the game, you could do so off Uplay directly. It’s also available to purchase on Steam, though progress from the free weekend may not carry over there. It’s currently 67% off on both platforms. The game will also be 75% off on PS4 (March 18 – March 25) and Xbox One (March 20 – March 30).
