Hot off the rumour mill is that the successor to Apple iPhone XR will have a feature that’s already in the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, 2x optical zoom. There isn’t much news or further information about the camera except that it is 2x optical zoom achieved by a dual camera module and it will likely be the same as the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, 12MP primary camera paired with 12MP telephoto lens. The current 7MP sensor will be upgraded to a 12MP unit.

The latest iPhone release would most probably be in September so all these are just talk. All we can do is just wait and see.
