Amazon wants Alexa to be everywhere in your life, the voice assisted AI in Echo is now being released in every possible shape and design apart from a speaker or a puck. The online behemoth is incorporating the smarthome control system into wall clock’s, screen and automobiles.
Bringing Alexa to every room and car, Amazon has releases a plethora of Echo devices and enhancing the current line up with the all new Echo-dot with an updated fabric design, Echo-Plus with a built in Zigbee hub making it a smart hub, Echo-Show a display screen with speakers just like the recently released JBL LinkView and Lenovo SmartDisplay, Echo Auto (shown above) for the car and Echo Clock.
“We want you to have access to Alexa everywhere—in your kitchen, in your living room, in your office, and now in your car or truck,” said Tom Taylor, Senior Vice President, Amazon Alexa. “Today, we’re excited to expand the number of ways that customers can add Alexa to their homes and their vehicles, so they can use Alexa to make their lives more convenient and easy—whether it’s asking for the traffic on your drive home, checking your email in the morning, or simply saying ‘Alexa, good night’ to turn off your lights and lock your door.”
With Echo Auto for cars, users can ask Alexa for the news, get the latest traffic updates, and can also set a routine that turns on lights in the driveway, set reminders to pick dry cleaning and accompanying features Alexa can complete.
As for the Echo WallClock, yes the walls will have ears now and will listen and respond, customers can use their voice to start a timer with a compatible Echo device and see how much time is remaining on the clock. The 60 LED ring display’s multiple timers for cooking, countdown for a family event, and show visual animations for alarms and reminders. The 10-inch battery powered clock connects to an Echo device via Bluetooth, automatically syncs to the correct time, and is useful for the kitchen or rooms with a compatible Echo.
That’s not all, there’s also the smart microwave which will make popcorn’s with just a command and smart plugs that will turn any electrical item into a smart device. Jetson home of the future is now a reality and it is here today.
