Alibaba Cloud Starts Courses At UniMy Campus

The mighty arm of Alibaba is further entrenching its role in Malaysia’s digital evolution with the establishment EduCloud an integrated education platform formed together with Alibaba Cloud, Singapore based Conversant and Prestariang Berhad.

Similar to Amazons AWS, Alibaba Cloud serves as a highly scalable data management and cloud computing solution that can support enterprises in their computing requirements at a fraction of the cost it would need for these companies to set them up themselves.

Under the agreement, EduCloud will become a single platform to deliver activities linked to education and related services for the group in its UniMy campus, including campus management, teaching and learning, entertainment, digital payment, and other services and online applications. With the introduction all three entities will deliver a range of education services and explore new opportunities in the Asia Pacific market.

“The tripartite collaboration leverages Alibaba Cloud’s partnership ecosystem and expertise in cloud computing. We are excited to work with Conversant and Prestariang to empower education institutions in Malaysia with new IT cloud infrastructure,” said Mr. Ethan Yu, Vice President of Alibaba Group and General Manager of Alibaba Cloud Global.

A big step towards Malaysia’s ambition to develop and transition into digital economy, the formation will provide students a close engagement opportunity with cloud computing processes and journey into new areas such as digital platform and big data analytics and provide end-to-end solutions and services to the whole education market via the cloud.
