Clawing its way back into the competitive smartphone market, TCL Communications introduces a new flagship from Alcatel. The Alcatel 5V marks the brand’s newly reimagined smartphone portfolio. It delivers high-end features, which includes a stunning edge-to-edge screen, at an affordable price.

The Alcatel 5V introduces a premium design aesthetics, especially with its optimised FullView 19:9 display. The device features an expansive 6.2-inch screen in a 5.5-inch form factor. It boasts of an ultra-compact bezel-less design. This allows for more screen space in a slimmer profile.

In addition to a curved unibody, the Alcatale 5V features the 2.5D Dragontrail glass with Optical Vacuum Plating (OPVM) coating. This creates high-shine seamless casing gleam. Inside, the has 32GB internal storage with 3GB of RAM.

The device is also equipped with an enhanced camera that utilises AI (artificial intelligence). It has a dual rear camera –12MP and 2MP – with advanced depth of field. The Alcatel 5V also offers an 8MP front-facing camera perfect for selfies.

Other features include the Face Key, a biometric security technology that uses facial recognition to identify its owner and unlock the smartphone. Its 106 high-precision facial key points and 30-degree detection radius provide both strong security and rapid access with a 0.5 second unlock time. This is in addition to the fingerprint sensor.

The Alcatel 5V is available in Spectrum Black and Spectrum Blue, priced at RM898 before SST.
