Acer Sales & Services Sdn. Bhd. marked a major milestone in the history of Acer’s notebook development through the launch of the new Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook. This first Ultrabook from Acer offers a new ultra computing experience for gadget lovers.
The FIRST ultrabook out in the market right now, the Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook measures 13mm thin and weighs less than 1.4kg.. The ultra-slim aerodynamic design features a strong and lightweight aluminium-magnesium alloy chassis, and a lid with a fingerprint-free metal finish that feels as smooth as silk. Users have a choice of 320GB HDD with embedded SSD or 240GB SSD (expected to be available in Malaysia in November) for ultra-fast access and ample media and data storage. Packing the professionally-tuned Dolby® Home Theater® v4, the Aspire S3 delivers vibrant, cinema-style surround sound and enhanced dialogue quality for optimum listening experience. Standard HDMI® output is also included.
Speaking at the launch, General Manager of Acer Sales Services Sdn. Bhd., Ricky Tan said, “Today, we are pleased to introduce to Malaysians a fresh new experience of mobile computing. The new Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook combines the power and productivity of notebooks, and essential features of the smartphone and tablet PC, such as fast startup and Internet connectivity.”
The S3 features the Acer Green Instant On, to give an “instant on & instant use” user experience. Acer Green Instant On technology has two sleep modes from which the Acer Aspire S3 resumes ultra-fast. From Sleep mode, the Acer Aspire S3 will resume in less than 2 seconds and in Deep Sleep mode, it resumes in 6 seconds. This innovation gives you 7 hours of battery life in operation and up to 50 days battery life in Deep Sleep mode. Also features is the Acer Instant Connect which allows users to access the Internet in only 2.5 seconds from startup.
When asked, Tan replied that there are plans for more members in the new Aspire S family, and Acer has a target of 5000 units for the next quarter, and hopes to have 25% of sales in 2012 to comprise of the new Ultrabook machines.
The Acer Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook is available now from RM2599, and it comes in either Intel Core i5 or i7 flavours.
